There is no Y in AI
While not an entirely new possibility, state-of-the-art machine learning tools relieve us not only from tedious and mundane tasks, but also of work we used to love to do, value, and think of as important. These new tools challenge us to reimagine the shape of automation and re-evaluate some of the long-standing goals of automation we have incorporated into our design practices.
We will see an overview of what these algorithms currently offer and analyze some inspiring examples. We will also try to make a prediction on what is to come and share our thoughts on what could or should be done about it from a design perspective, especially from an education angle.
